Mountain

Mountain

I'm far from being a big Mountain fan. For me they're another band that released some total bangers amidst a pile of bollocks. I respect what they do and their influence, but mostly they just don't resonate. So here's a great compilation, so I didn't have to compile one, and the album I play the most which is their Bob Dylan Tribute album Masters Of War. This album is probably best known by you all for featuring Ozzy on the title track. And of course you can never go past Mississippi Queen as being a classic. Both are well worth a listen.

[2025] The Mockers - After The Rain (BLR)

[2025] The Mockers - After The Rain (BLR)

My favourite New Zealand band from the 1980's. Growing up as a teen in NZ they were my band to see. Didn't get into the whole Dunedin Sound until the 1990's. They used to do all ages gigs so I saw them a few times at school halls etc. Sneaking into places like the Gluepot and Mainstreet was fairly easy so I got to see them at their best and not watered down for 14 year old girls at those all ages and school shows. They still get together and do the odd gig. I guess if I had to put a label on them I'd say they're kind of pop with a new wave/post punk lean. This is a small collection of A's & B's. Not for everyone, but I love them so you get them!

Nirvana... The 1993 Rio Tapes

Nirvana... The 1993 Rio Tapes

A good buddy asked for a copy of the Hollywood Rock Festival at the Praca Da Apoteose in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil on 23 January 1993. I picked the best quality version I have and put this together. I also put a wee thing together for the Demos they recorded the BMG Studios while they were there. Sure there are dozens of different Bootlegs of these two collections, but I like to make my own. So here you go...

[2017] VA - Smacked! A Tribute To Ilari ''Claude'' Peltola

[2017] VA - Smacked! A Tribute To Ilari ''Claude'' Peltola

A friend asked for this and I think it will be okay to post. We all know and love Smack and Claude is a big loss to all us fans. This is a great Tribute featuring tracks from The Streetwalkin' Cheetahs, Plastic Tears, The Flaming Sideburns, Anita Chellmah & Timo Kaltio and more. A must for any fan, and see previous Smack posts if you're interested.

[2025] Bob Dylan - Gotta Serve Somebody (BLR)

[2025] Bob Dylan - Gotta Serve Somebody (BLR)

There's no way I could do a Dylan Best Of... and keep it to just one volume. So what I've done here is basically an Introduction of sorts. A place to maybe get a bit of inspiration to make your own journey into the musical depths of a true legend. My favourite three Dylan records are Desire, Live At Budokan and Nashville Skyline. But it's a hard choice. The only album I never listen to is the Live Dylan And The Dead LP. This was a difficult task that I set myself, but with multiple revisions I'm happy how it's turned out. Hopefully one or two of you will like it as well.
