Thirsty

Thirsty

Three releases from the greatly missed Guy Bailey of  The Quireboys, band Thirsty. A friend asked for a copy of Albatross so I thought I may as well post these. Sadly I lost the physical copies I got from Guy in my house flood a few years back. Luckily I copy everything. These albums are more in the vain of Dogkennel Hill than The Quireboys and just lovely they are. Highly recommended!

[1990] Funhouse - Generation Generator

Got introduced to these sleazy/glam noise makers through my good buddy Steve a few months back and a glorious noise it is. Been on the "To Post..." pile for far too long.

[2025] The Smiths - Oscillating Wildly (BLR)

[2025] The Smiths - Oscillating Wildly (BLR)

Don't get me started on Morrissey the man, but I love The Smiths and thought it was about time I put a solid compilation together of my favourite tunes. Lost any interest in Morrissey's solo stuff after Years Of Refusal. He's probably done a good tune here or there, but I just can't be bothered.  And it's a young Quentin Crisp on the cover. Enjoy!

[2013] Ozzy Osbourne - Speak Of The Devil - Ritz 1982 Complete (Zodiac 027)

[2013] Ozzy Osbourne - Speak Of The Devil - Ritz 1982 Complete (Zodiac 027)

The official release of Speak Of The Devil was compiled from tracks recorded over two nights. This Japanese Bootleg collects those two nights. Many thanks to the ever generous Mitsuo for sending me this today. And once again a million thanks to Ozzy for all the music and the memories.

[1982] Ozzy - Speak Of The Devil

[1982] Ozzy - Speak Of The Devil

I know this is official but I wanted to post something that was important to Ozzy's career and this is probably in the top five. Don Arden wanted a Million Dollars US for Ozzy to get free of his contract. Sharon and Ozzy got an advance from Jet and paid him off. All the while having Blizzard and Diary already secretly self produced and recorded. Ozzy was owing an album to Jet when Randy died, so they cobbled a band together, recorded a live show of Sabbath songs and this is it. All paid in full. Usual Ozzy and Sharon type shenanigans, and it all worked out in the end. R.I.P.

[1998] Hardcore Superstar - It's Only Rock 'n' Roll

[1998] Hardcore Superstar - It's Only Rock 'n' Roll

My good buddy G just asked for a copy so I thought I'd post it as well. Coz it's a great raucous noise. and you can't find a CD copy cheap anywhere.

Ozzy...

Ozzy...

Ozzy has sadly passed and I'm beyond sad. Thoughts to his family, friends and fans. Heartbroken. R.I.P.

[2025] The Cramps - Confessions Of A Psycho Cat (BLR)

[2025] The Cramps - Confessions Of A Psycho Cat (BLR)

Well we all love The Cramps and I'm surprised a compilation like this hasn't had an Official type release. I was looking for a track for next months Playlist and this kinda birthed itself. Pretty sure this collects all their B-Sides and Album Bonus Tracks. It's compiled from a multitude of sources and I've had to amplify several tracks to make it level throughout. Some of the vinyl B-sides have a little crackle here and there but it doesn't really interfere with anything really. And yes I know the song title is Confessions Of A Psychocat, I just wanted to change it up a bit for the title of compilation. I hope you all enjoy this as much as I did putting it together.

[1983] Yasuaki Honda - Heart Of Glass (2014 Reissue)

[1983] Yasuaki Honda - Heart Of Glass (2014 Reissue)

Yasuaki Honda with Michael Monroe, Andy McCoy, Sami Yaffa & Razzle. I was talking to my good friend Mitsuo and thought about this record as I'd never heard it. It's been on my wishlist forever, but I wasn't going to pay ridiculous postage for a maybe once or twice listen.  Anyway I had a look around and was surprised to see a single track on Youtube. Giving it a listen and digging it for what it is, I went on a deep dive and found a rip of the 2014 CD Reissue on a random JPop site. God knows how the Hanoi Rocks boys teamed up with a Japanese popstar to make a New Wave record. While not being the best album in the world it's well worth a listen, even for just the Hanoi pedigree.

Nostalgia Part 2...

Nostalgia Part 2...

Gotta say I'm stunned at how popular the first Nostalgia post has been, so I thought I'd do a Part 2. This will be the final in the series as other than these records everything else my parents played I consider truly dreadful. I just don't get Richard Clayderman, Hooked On Classics, Mario Lanza, Foster And Allen and the like, and I never will. There was a Pinky And Perky record Pinky And Perky Accompanied By The Micetts - Pinky And Perky's Hit Parade No. 2 (Pictured) which I liked when I was really young, but I don't have a copy, and probably haven't listened to it since I was 9 or 10. I've also expanded the Herman's Hermits. They put out a load of complete twaddle, but I've tagged on some more favourites. Anyway here we go...

[1959] Cliff Richard And The Shadows - Travellin' Light (7'' Single)
