Something that was on my want list for years. Many thanks to Albert and Salva for this. I've included the original file sent through by Albert and Salva, plus my Remastered Version with a couple of Bonus Tracks. This is a must for any Kevin Junior fan.

I got a question, how can you master something that is already mastered? I’m curious to the technical aspects of it.
ReplyDeleteI call it Remastering because I don't know what else to call it. I'll give yo a for instance... I take a cassette or vinyl rip and firstly put it through a programme that automatically removes as much crackle and pop as possible. If things are really bad I can do it several times at different decibel levels. Then I amplify the track to where I'm happy with it. Too loud and the track gets all muddy. Then I run it through Auto Gain to level everything off to the peak of the track. After that I compress the track and then run it through a Graphic Equalizer to where I'm happy with it. If it's a single track or mono recording I mix the track on a couple of levels and make it stereo. Sometimes up to 8 Tracks. Then I cut off anything at the beginning or end and split the tracks. Gets a bit complicated and can take ages, but that's pretty much it.
