[1983] Yasuaki Honda - Heart Of Glass (2014 Reissue)
Yasuaki Honda with Michael Monroe, Andy McCoy, Sami Yaffa & Razzle. I was talking to my good friend Mitsuo and thought about this record as I'd never heard it. It's been on my wishlist forever, but I wasn't going to pay ridiculous postage for a maybe once or twice listen. Anyway I had a look around and was surprised to see a single track on Youtube. Giving it a listen and digging it for what it is, I went on a deep dive and found a rip of the 2014 CD Reissue on a random JPop site. God knows how the Hanoi Rocks boys teamed up with a Japanese popstar to make a New Wave record. While not being the best album in the world it's well worth a listen, even for just the Hanoi pedigree.
Dear friend, I don't know the details. At that time, Hanoi Rocks had a record contract with Nippon Phonogram Co., Ltd. in Japan. Honda had a record contract with Philips. Since there was Nippon Phonogram Co., Ltd. as a subsidiary of Philips, I would assume that they recorded in London due to that connection. This is just my guess.
