[2021] Mazzy Star - Blue Lights On A Ghost Highway (Rarities 1990 - 2018)
Hope Sandoval's voice is simply astonishing, and the label of Dream Pop for Mazzy Star is actually an accurate one for a change. I did a big spiel on my Facebook page about how I first heard them, but here I'll just say Mazzy Star are just simply awesome, and this Compilation was a pleasure to put together!
[2021] Mazzy Star - Blue Lights On A Ghost Highway (Rarities 1990 - 2018)
[2011] Manic Street Preachers - On Track With SEAT
Recorded in the SEAT Ontrack Metropolis studio direct to vinyl in one take. Limited to only 100 copies. Included are the songs edited to individual tracks, plus the complete one track session.
[2021] Silver Ginger 5 - Sonic Sugar
Pretty good audience recording of Silver Ginger 5 Live at The Scala ~ London 9 November 2000. You can never go wrong with a little Ginger Wildheart!
[2010] Jessica Harp - A Woman Needs
Well I posted The Wreckers and Michelle Branch, so I thought it was fitting that I posted some Jessica Harp as well.
[2021] Manic Street Preachers - Exiled Democracy
Live at the Music Hall ~ Frankfurt, Germany (5 Apr. 1992)
[2011] Michelle Branch - West Coast Time
Love Michelle Branch. Posted The Wreckers a little earlier so I thought I'd post her Unreleased album as well. I still think she would have been a massive star if she hadn't been shafted by her Record Company. She's just such a talented songwriter, and it really is a shame.
[1999] The Bobbyteens - Fast Livin & Rock N Roll
If you love a little Garage Trash then you'll love this. Imagine Nikki Corvette meets the Glam Skanks meets The American Foxes meets the Ramones...
Ralph the guitarist and singer of Trigger Cut got in touch and suggested I might like his band, and I'm glad to feature them. Their song Fireworks off the new album Rogo is awesome. I really like them and I'm happy to recommend them to you all, so check them out on Bandcamp and Youtube, it's a lovely noise!
[1983] Avengers - Avengers
Can't recommend this early piece of U.S. Punk enough!
[1991] Blue Blood - Universal Language (Japanese Edition)
Another overlooked and seemingly forgotten English rock band. Got into them through the bonus Japanese track on this album Fool, which is simply lovely!
[2013] Disciples Of Sin - Flesh & Blood (EP)
First of the feature bands... imagine the Murderdolls crossed with Motörhead and you get the Disciples Of Sin. Heavy driving dirty Horror Punk and a lovely noise it is! Check them out on Facebook for UK Tourdates etc...
[2016] Eilen Jewell - Iron Horse Music Hall ~ Northampton, MA (12 May 2016)
I've been meaning to post some Eilen Jewell for a very long time as she is one of my favourite singers. Not really a household name, but she should be. This collects both sets. If you like Americana then you should love this as much as I do. She was just about to Tour down here in New Zealand when Covid hit, and of course everything got cancelled. Hopefully when this whole pandemic nightmare is over she'll actually make it.
[2016] Eilen Jewell - Iron Horse Music Hall ~ Northampton, MA (12 May 2016)
[2021] Bang Tango - Midnight Strangers (Live)
Compilation of the two Live E.P.'s and several Bonus Live tracks.
Another band I've come to love this year is the City Kids. See them on Tour in the UK and support them by buying their records etc here.
The City KidsFor all your Nikki Sudden & Dave Kusworth needs visit Easy Action. They also specialise in Marc Bolan and T.Rex, plus a whole host of other bands. Visit them here...
The Streetwalkin' Cheetahs album One More Drink is another favourite record released this year. Franl Meyer seems to play with everyone and has another album coming out soon with his band Anti-Fashion which is a tribute to Social Distortion. Check him out on Bandcamp here...
The Suicide Notes are one of my favourite bands to emerge over the last year or so. They've been getting rave reviews on their current tour, and have a new album in the works. Support them here...
Beyond Nostalgia & Heartache is one of my top 10 albums of the year, and I highly recommend it. Hit Rich up on Bandcamp for all your Digressions needs!
If you're in a band, or if you want a band featured or promoted, get in touch. If I like you, or the band I'll pop you up! Links to Websites & Bandcamp etc. Did it for the Street Walkin' Cheetah's/Frank Meyer and Thunderfuck And The Deadly Romantics and got lots of hits. Also, of course with Tyla's sites and Easy Action Records who look after Nikki Sudden and Dave Kusworth. I don't do reviews etc, but if you want a little exposure just get in touch!
[2006] The Wreckers - Stand Still, Look Pretty (Walmart.com Digital Bundle +) One of my favourite records. I love Michelle Branch. Sadly another artist that was screwed over by their record company. This is the Walmart Digital edition with the Jessica and Michelle interviews explaining all the songs. I've also added a couple of extra bonus tracks.
[2006] The Wreckers - Stand Still, Look Pretty (Walmart.com Digital Bundle +)
[1986] Pussy Galore - Exile On Main Street
I've been listening to The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion today so I thought I'd post something related. So here's a copy of the "Infamous" Pussy Galore - Exile On Main Street tape. Take a band that can't play, have them record a classic Stones album and you get a complete shambles of No Wave noise.
[2013] The Dogs D'Amour - Slade Rooms ~ Wolverhampton, UK (3 March 2013)
Been awhile since I posted a little Dogs, so I thought I'd post an audio rip of the From Here Is An Eternity DVD. Personally I think it should have been officially released back then. R.I.P. Mr. Paul Hornby.
[1999] Tommy Henriksen - Tommy Henriksen
Another Request for another sadly overlooked album. Of course you all know Tommy from being in Alice Coopers band, but he seems to have worked with everyone over the years, including playing bass in Warlock during the Triumph And Agony era. Features another one of my faves Nina Hagen on the track Beyond Life.
[2020] The Donnas - Going Out With... The Donnas!!! Vol. 2
Repost request part two...
[2020] The Donnas - Going Out With... The Donnas!!! Vol. 1
Repost request... you can never go wrong with a little Donnas. Part one of my usual sort of Compilation. B-Sides, Bonus & Non-Album Tracks etc...
[2021] Barb Wire Dolls - Time To Riot!!!
All the way from Crete comes punk rock at it's purest. Sadly they seem to have disappeared somewhere into the depths of America. Compilation of Bonus Tracks & B-Sides, plus Live At Wacken 2016 Remastered.
[2021] Daughter - When The Woods Become Landfill
I was recently introduced to Elena Tonra and Daughter. Since then her albums have been on constant rotaion, and I can't recommend them enough. This is one of my usual compilations including EP's, B-Sides, Bonus, Session and Demo tracks.
[1990] Vietnam Chain - Susmoala Beat (Vinyl Rip)
Just heard that Mark Enbatta has sadly passed away. His band The Vietnam Veterans were woefully overlooked outside his native France. This is the album he made with Germany's Daisy Chain, and is an old favourite of mine. This is a rip of a very well played crackly piece of vinyl.
[1982] Bernie Tormé - Turn Out The Lights (1996 Reissue)
Simply a cracker of an album. This 1996 Reissue contains a couple of Bonus Tracks.
For the cover of the Vain Comp I put together I wanted someone ridiculously vain. So I came up with someone from the vainest, most self serving, famous for being famous, no redeeming qualities, blight on society etc etc, but who have more influence on people than should be legal family in the world... the Kardashian/Jenners. so the cover is... Kylie Jenner/Kardashian.
[1989] The Sidewinders - Witchdoctor
Another sadly underrated album, from another sadly underrated band...
[2021] Santa Cruz - Crossroads Shakedown
Compilation of Bonus Tracks, Covers and Remastered Live Acoustic and Electric Tracks etc.
[2021] Vain - No Secrets
Recorded live in Dallas, Texas. Not sure of the venue, but it was recorded by Z-rock radio and Broadcast 10 May 1989. Gold Star to anyone who knows who the girl on the cover is!⭐
[2011] Santa Cruz - Anthem For The Young 'n' Restless
[1991] Cheap And Nasty - Beautiful Disaster (Japanese Release)
With Timo's sad passing I thought it was apt to post this classic album as well.
[1991] Cheap And Nasty - Beautiful Disaster (Japanese Release)
[2021] Cheap And Nasty - Internal Action (B-Sides, Demos & Live - Updated)
I posted a version of this a year or two back. It hasn't been downloaded in awhile, but with the sad passing of Timo Kaltio I thought I'd update it with a few more tracks and repost it.
[2021] Cheap And Nasty - Internal Action (B-Sides, Demos & Live - Updated)
[2021] Mötley Crüe - Raw Tracks III
Compilation of the two Japanese only release Raw Tracks EP's and a couple of Bonus Tracks!
[2003] The 5,6,7,8's - Bomb The Rocks - Early Days Singles
Japanese Garage brilliance... it just doesn't get any better than this!
Don't forget to keep those requests coming. I do get to them eventually, because I have a huge "To Post" pile... but if you really want something posted fast, just ask nicely.😏
[1981] Wasted Youth - Wild And Wandering (2008 Reissue)
Was just reminded that I said I would post some Wasted Youth...
Playlist # 44 (Into Lockdown Once Again...)
Features Nick Mantoan, the Distillers, Damian Cullen Band, The New Brutarians and a whole lot more!
