Invoking The Unclean ...how to spend a quiet tuesday.

I love Cradle Of Filth. I've been listening to them since 1996. I don't know if it's a sign of me getting older, but I've been listening to them all day and a lot of it just doesn't really do it for me anymore. There are a lot of tracks that will never grow old and I will love them forever, but now instead of just listening to one album over and over, I think I'll have to do just one compilation of favourites and stick to that. It's a shame really as Dani is a master story teller... anyway here's the original Demo tape of Invoking The Unclean.

Dynamite Triple Feature...

This is pretty much just for collectors as I couldn't do much to make it worth more than one listen. I wasn't going to post them, but I thought some people would like to hear them. I do have another version of the Razzamatazz show which will be easily made more listenable though. I just wanted to compile these three short gigs from the Tyla's Dogs D'amour September 2017 Tour into one collection.

How Come It Never Rains....

Just got sent about 3 hours worth of Dogs And Tyla Youtube audio rips etc. I haven't got around learning how to do that yet so it's all appreciated. They're in 2 long unlabelled files though and I don't really know where to start. Quickly skipping through there seems to be some great parts while others are pretty bad and nothing seems to be in any sort of order. I'm not going to bother trying to track where everything is from so I'll just bang together a pile of compilations. So keep watching this space...

Obscurity #6 - Anton Szandor LaVey

I've always been fascinated by Religion, Philosophy, The Occult and Blind Faith etc. I've read far and wide on the subject and my shelves are packed with books on it. My house is full of religious imagery and bric a brak from Animism to Zoroastrianism. I love the stuff, which is kind of odd as I don't actually believe in any of it. So here's an obscurity straight from the Church Of Satan... here's Anton Szandor LaVey - The Satanic Mass (1968)

Looking to the future...

Well I've finally managed to get through all my Tyla, Dogs and related etc Bootlegs. It's taken just over 6 weeks. As I haven't listened to a lot of them in years and my collection has grown, I'm amazed at how many are actually duplicates of the same Gig just labeled as different dates. And some with the same date are completely different shows. It's going to take awhile to sort everything out specially getting venues etc. Nice to find a couple of new shows though. Around 60 + to post though so keep watching...

David Bowie - 1969 Demos

Here are the original Beckenham Arts Lab Demos. Some of the tracks have been released offically, but this is the whole session. They will get a limited release on vinyl soon with more early Demos to follow. Bowie fans will have had these for years, but I thought they might be of interest to some of you. Notable for the early version of Space Oddity.

Interviews + Odds & Sods

This is a collection of Radio and TV interviews etc with Tyla. I've tidied up a couple of them but the quality does vary. I'm not sure of some of the sources as I've been sent some of them from different places without any details. Those that I do know have been labeled. It includes tidied up audio rips of the two Hard & Heavy Vhs interviews etc.

The Dogs D'amour - Monsters Of Rock 2002.

This is a radio session from 2002 Monsters Of Rock, Alice Cooper Tour featuring the Happy Ever After era Dogs line up. I still wonder what would have happened if it hadn't all turned to custard. The band sounds tight and the interview with Tyla is interesting. Definitely worth a listen.

Obscurity #5 : Charles Manson

I've a got a couple of Tyla interviews somewhere, and as I'm looking for them to post I found a pile of Charles Manson Bootlegs. God knows where I picked them up from, but the file was dated 1999. Anyway this a compilation of Manson talking about his life and his beliefs etc. The Family Murders get mentioned of course, but there's also a lot about his music. It's a little rambling, but it's pretty interesting to see how his mind worked.... and yep it's pretty out there.

Oscurity #4 : Anais Nin

Another one so far removed from the Dogs it's almost in another galaxy...
Anyway I'm busy organising some Tyla Bootlegs. Got a couple of really nice shows I'm almost ready to put up. I'm trying to decide on art at the moment and it can take awhile before I find something I'm happy with and then do my thing to it. I've literally got thousands of Bootlegs and it takes some time to sort through. I just re-found this yesterday on an old hard-drive and this is one of the first Bootlegs I ever bought. It was almost impossible to find 30 odd years ago, but now it's available in a couple of places.  I've been a reader my entire life and my spare bedroom has nothing in it but books. I went through an Anais Nin stage and read pretty much everything she wrote apart from a lot of her transcribed lectures. From memory I got a cassette of this from the back of a Goldmine Magazine. Anais Nin - UC Berkeley Lecture from 1971. People are starting to view this Blog from all over the world, so maybe this might be relevant to someone out there.

Aroha Nui

I never really wanted to make personal statements on this blog, but tonight here in New Zealand we have the Aroha Nui concert in support of the victims and families affected by the Mosque attacks. There is a great cross section of New Zealand acts appearing, and although the circumstances of this happening is extremely sad, it's a wonderful way for us Kiwis to come together and show our support and aroha for the Muslim community. Ten million dollars has already been raised, but hopefully tonight we will raise more to help the families and the Muslim Community.

Obscurity #3 ...Holy Caped Crusader!

A throwback to 1966... The totally Batorific soundtrack to the classic 60's Batman TV Show. It's still re-run once every year or so, and it still makes me laugh. Holy Caped Crusader... to the Batmobile!

Tranquilized Icon Records

For years I've been making my own Bootleg Cassettes and CD's for personal use, creating my own label Tranquilized Icon Records. I've never sold anything and never will, but finally I'm getting myself organised to share some of the things I've picked up over the years with others that are interested. Hopefully amongst all the posts you will find something you like.

Feel free to add comments and ask for requests. It would be nice to hear what you're liking and specially what you're not so I can plan further posts.

Bernie Torme

We recently lost Bernie Torme. We all know how sick he was, but I think all that stress he had around Pledge Music couldn't have helped how he passed. So I thought I'd pop up this gig with Ozzy from 1982.

Errant Thoughts And Metal Misdemeanors... Playlist #06

I admit it. Back in the 80's early 90's I did wear a denim jacket covered in band patches. Wish I still had it, but it's long gone. I used to spend hours hand sewing those patches on, and not being much of a tailor it took fucking ages. Mostly they were W.A.S.P. patches and I still love that band. Wish I had all my vintage T-Shirts as well, but I wore them all to death. Don't even ask about all my posters and magazines... they're worth a small fortune now. I wasn't into all that Hair Metal stuff  as I always preferred a more punkier/sleazier sound... anyway if you want a little sleaze in your life here ya go.

Tyla - 12 Bar Club 2001

[2001] Tyla - 12 Bar Club ~ London, UK (14 December 2001)
I'm sure there are better quality versions of this gig out there, but the version I had to work with is barely audible. I've done my best to make it listenable and I think it came out okay. Considering with what I started with I'm actually pretty pleased.

Obscurity #2 - The Ormonde Folk

Musically I was lucky to survive my childhood. If you liked The Irish Rovers, Mario Lanza and Richard Clayderman you were fine, but otherwise you were summarily tortured everytime the stereo was turned on. I did love 2 records my parents played though. One was Hermans Hermits Greatest Hits... I still love Here Comes The Star and the other is this one. The Ormonde Folk - Truly Irish, recorded live in 1971. Pure Irish Folk at it's best. This is the first LP I ever ripped and it still comes out when I've had a few too many... so far removed from The Dogs it's ridiculous, but fuck it, it's my Blog and I can post whatever I like!

I have two different versions of Fall For Nothing. This is the original 1993 2CD version, untouched. On the alternate version the demos are the same, it's just the live CD that's different. Neil Leyton... super rarity!

I'm an unashamed Neil Leyton fan. Everyone probably knows the link between Neil Leyton and The Dogs D'Amour. From the Bullet Proof Poems Tribute album from 1999 and onwards. This is a rare CD from the Alluvium Tour from 2003. It's Neil and Rich Jones from Black Halos/ Michael Monroe  etc who also has a link to the Dogs. This has a great version of Errol Flynn.
