[1996] Slingbacks - All Pop, No Star
Sadly the only record from these guys... title is a little deceiving. More a mix of Grunge, Riot Grrl and Garage Rock. Another one I have to recommend!!!
nik, thought I'd check out if Shireen Liane lead singer did anything else after these split...found a few tracks by transatlantic bunnies which are in a similar vein to this.....then i found https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bI0dxJJsPPI from the name and red hair i presume it's her? bizarre!!! her whole channel is sweeping!! a sad case on No pop and No Star, this album is superb though
Great album. Shireen is Beat Angels singer Brian Smith's ex-wife and there is a lot of similarities in the writing style and subject. Beat Angels recorded a song that originally appears on this album too, "Whorehouse Priest".
