The new Prophets Of Addiction record Face The Music is one of my favourite records of the year. This is pretty much Queeny Blast Pop with Terri as the singer and without the glitz and the make-up. This has also been released as part of the Queeny Blast Pop - Volume II (The Terri Demos) compilation. If you like Bubble Glam Punk then you'll love this... and thanks to Chris!

Love me a little J-Pop, but you have to be selective. 99% of the Idol School stuff is generic twaddle and can be easily ignored. But I'm a big fan of Ladybaby, well once they grew up and got rid of Ladybeard. That whole thing was just to weird even for me. The original Rei and Rie solo stuff is great when they changed the name to The Idol Formerly Known As Ladybaby. Rei left in 2017 to restart the band Brats with her sister, and they put out some great tunes and two killer Punk Rock albums. Ladybaby reformed itself with Rie into a four piece Death Pop/Kawaii band, and they put out a couple of EP's and a great record before dissolving in 2020. Sadly the name is now being used by another incarnation without Rei or Rie and it's dire. Rie put out a few singles under the names ilie and trolleattroll before reuniting with Rei. Since then they've put out a few singles, which are compiled here and are back doing live shows. Anyhoo forgive the ramble. I put this together for myself, but maybe a couple of you might like it as well. Several of the tracks have already been on my monthly Playlists. They do the social media streaming thing and it can get pretty funny. So if you're interested you might wanna check that out as well.

These six albums are my favourite Des Barres albums and swing from Cock Rock to Funk to 70's Stadium Rock to Singer/Songwriter to Pop and a tinge of everything else. If you love David Johansens Solo records after the New York Dolls then you'll love all these... and I do eventually get to things!

I've had this ready to post for awhile. It collects both sets recorded and broadcast by the BBC including the Encore, which was Broadcast seperately. There will probably be a million versions of this soon, but this is mine. I ripped it straight from the video and split the tracks. The Encore was a little quiet so I amplified it a little. Other than that it's as recorded. The Cure at their best.

[2024] t.A.T.u. - Smile Management (2CD)(BLR)

t.A.T.u. are one of my guilty pleasures. Just perfect synth pop and it doesn't matter that half their releases are sung in Russian. When I first heard All The Things She Said back in 2002 I was sold. I never fell for that teenage lesbian duo bollocks, but Lena Katina running about in her undies... well! So what you have here is a compilation of the last two albums Happy Smiles and Waste Management. Plus it's a rarity where I actually like all the Remixes. Working on a Lena Katina solo comp as well. Probably won't be popular, but I post the stuff I love and if you all like it as well then that's a bonus.
