[1986] Venom - The Singles 80 - 86
On the tasty new Behemoth album there's a brilliant cover of Venom's In League With Satan featuring Shagrath Of Dimmu Borgir. When I was a teenage Metal Head I thought Venom was a naff comedy band and ignored them. Kinda like something your drunken uncle would put together with his mates from down the pub. All influenced by Hammer Horrors and wanting to be Black Sabbath, but with a giggle. It wasn't until I was in my forties that I gave them a real listen and fell in love with them. The influence they've had on all genres of Metal is astounding. Highly recommended!
